A Place Where Work Turns into Passion and Teams Turn into Family
There comes a point in our lives where working is not just about earnings. It becomes something more than just money. You feel the need to find the real meaning, a purpose and an urge to contribute to the betterment of the society. For me joining Youth for Seva as a full timer has been exactly that, a journey of growth and gratitude.
I remember my first day at YFS like it was yesterday. I joined the organisation 3 months ago. But feels like I’m here since ages. Unlike other conventional work places, success is not just numbers at Youth for Seva, but it is measured in smiles and transformed lives of the community we serve.
As a content writer, I came in thinking my job was write just blogs, social media captions reports and much more. But when the stories you are writing are real and makes an impact, it becomes something else. Every piece of content I create/write, carries a real person’s experience inside it. It may be about the volunteers who spent their Sunday teaching something useful to the kids or a bunch of volunteers who plant saplings.
These are not just stories for us, it’s the efforts of our volunteers, coordinators and of course the full timers who has the vision of building a self-reliant sustainable society and make a real difference.
A community that feels like a family
One of the most beautiful aspects of YFS is the people. Volunteers, coordinators, students and of course the full-timers work together for the betterment of the community. And this work environment never fails to inspire me in many ways. Here at Youth for Seva we work with values and thoughts. Everyone contributes differently but with the same shared vision of empowering the people who are in need.
Over these three months colleagues became companions, we work together, we laugh together and it all truly feels like home. Working here is not limited to office walls and fixed routines. Every day is a new experience, and a new opportunity to reach more lives to build a strong community.
Being a full timer at Youth for Seva is not just a professional experience, it has been truly transformative journey for me. Service teaches us to look beyond ourselves, to cultivate the sense of empathy and to “experience the true joy of giving”.
My work here may not be perfect but it carries meaning. This is the greatest reward for me.
