Overview

Youth for Seva established its Nalgonda chapter in 2017 with initiatives such as menstrual hygiene awareness programs and Abhyasikas, aiming to create meaningful impact in the fields of education, health, and environment. Over the years, the chapter has steadily expanded its reach through structured community-driven initiatives and volunteer engagement activities.

Our Programs

NMMS

The National Means cum Merit Scholarship Examination, also known as the NMMS Exam, is sponsored by the Central Government.To prevent economically disadvantaged students from dropping out of school at class VIII and to encourage them to complete their education up to the secondary stage, the exam seeks to identify meritorious students and fund their educational expenses.Youth for Seva shall train the student in NMMS and assign nearby schools to provide training by volunteers to government or aided school children.

Abhyasika (After-school Free learning center)

Abhyasikas are YFS’ initiatives to support students requiring additional assistance. These free tuition centers are designed to help children from challenging home environments concentrate on their studies and build a better future.

Lab On Wheels (Mobile science lab)

Lab-on-Wheels is a mobile setup that brings science experiments and interactive models to children from government schools or learning centres. These demonstrations are in sync with their curriculum and therefore build a better understanding of the subject using a practical & even hands-on approach

STEM Lab

Robotics is a fun way to engage children in learning about early science, engineering, and maths, and get an understanding of how these subjects are linked together. Discover the workings of gears, learn scientific principles like cause and effect, force, and movement. Develop critical and inventive thinking skills while constructing your own robots.

School Kit Drive

This initiative provides high-quality school bags alongside a full year’s supply of notebooks and stationery to underprivileged students in rural government schools. By equipping these children with essential learning tools, we aim to remove barriers to education and inspire them to stay in school.

Chiguru

Art is an essential part of life. Chiguru, which translates to “budding,” is a flagship initiative by Youth for Seva created to bring out the artist in every child. It provides a strong and unique platform for students from Government schools and learning centers to showcase their inbuilt talents in various art forms. YFS believes that every child has unique inbuilt talent which cannot be taught; it can only be awakened. It is the most awaited day for all children and volunteers and is filled with fun, enjoyment, and celebration. Volunteers spend their time, share knowledge, and help in improving skills while they take back a true experience of the joy in giving. Chiguru is a great platform for volunteers to understand the importance of being empathetic, considerate, and supportive towards society.

Our college volunteers visit government schools and rural communities to conduct health awareness campaigns focusing on menstrual hygiene, mental health, substance abuse, and proper nutrition.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

To eliminate open defecation and improve solid waste management, and to create Open Defecation Free (ODF) villages. The program also aims to increase awareness of menstrual health management. The motive of the campaign is to clean the school premises, lakes, public places, and villages. This campaign created awareness about sanitation and its impact on public health. The campaign proved to be a great success with the efforts of volunteers, the government, and NGOs.

Environmental Awareness Activities

Our environment needs to be replenished, and it is up to us to give back to Mother Nature. We conducted drives with a diverse crowd of students, corporate volunteers, partners, and college volunteers. We will engage volunteers in seed ball-making, sapling planting, and reforestation across different regions.

Ensure proper professional training is provided to the rural community (women mostly) Work on getting the stitching orders for the Sewing machine center; handhold the program till we identify the local society being formed & hand over the program to them.
