Overview

The Youth for Seva Gurugram Chapter was launched in April 2017 to inspire local
volunteers to participate in social change. Initial efforts focused on college
campuses, quickly attracting hundreds of student volunteers for diverse community
projects. By 2018, the chapter had grown to over 200 active volunteers, building a
strong platform for educational and health programs, mentoring children, and
organizing awareness events across Gurugram. This ongoing dedication has made
YFS Gurugram an important contributor to civic engagement and social
development in the region.

Our Programs

Abhyasikas

While schools play an important role in furthering education, some students need additional support. Abhyasikas are YFS initiatives that provide free tuition centers aimed at helping children who live in challenging home environments focus on their studies and secure a better future. These centers also help minimize children’s exposure to hostile environments, keeping them safe in the process.

Career Awareness

Understanding the daunting question many students face—”What do you want to become?”—YFS has initiated the Career Awareness Program to help guide students. Given the rapid changes in industries and career paths, this program provides clarity and insight into different professions and opportunities.

NMMS

NMMS is a centrally sponsored national scholarship program for students studying in government, local body, or government-aided schools. Its objective is to provide scholarships to students from financially weaker sections, supporting them to complete secondary education.

Summer and Winter Camps play a crucial role in the holistic development of a child by offering a playful, interactive environment to learn important life skills. Believing that comprehensive and interactive education is a right for all, YFS provides these camps to equalize access to fun and educational activities.

Plantation Drives

Biodiversity conservation is critical to sustaining life. YFS conducts multiple plantation drives across the country, engaging volunteers to plant and care for saplings while ensuring their growth and maintenance.

Seed Ball Making

Seed ball making is a hands-on and meaningful environmental activity where young people form small spheres from clay, compost, and native seeds. These seed balls are designed to be thrown onto barren or deforested land to naturally regenerate vegetation and promote biodiversity.

Child Health Awareness Program

This program aims to help adolescents become responsible and healthy citizens by addressing adolescence changes, mental health, peer pressure, addiction, and providing counseling through structured sessions.

Menstrual Hygiene Awareness

Our Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Program encourages hygienic practices during menstruation, dispels myths and misconceptions, and empowers girls to speak openly about menstrual issues without inhibition.

The word “Navoudit” translates to “budding” The main idea behind this program is to furbish the cultural and extracurricular talents of these children, and provide them with a platform to showcase them.
