SEVA IN ACTION (SIA) is a voluntary organization initiated in the year 1985 to minimize the gaps between needs and provision for persons with disabilities. The goal was to empower persons and families with disabilities through Community Based Rehabilitation and Inclusive Education programs.
In the 25 years since its inception, Seva-in-Action has been able to positively impact the lives of more than 20000 children and persons with disability through various services and working with the education system at state and centre to promote and provide equal opportunities for children with disabilities through inclusive education through Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) approach and develop inclusive education. The different activities of SIA are Early intervention, School Readiness, Resource, teaching/ Remedial teaching, Counseling and Guidance, Advocacy, Working with the state and Central Govt, Human Resource Development (Training), Livelihood, Action research, Documentation and Dissemination of Information. It is our desire to utilize these opportunity to expand and develop its services and activities to reach the unreached people with disabilities.
Volunteer Activities:
• Playing games with the children
• Helping them make Paper Bags, Jute mats and other Eco-Friendly Products
• Documentation
• Organising Programs
• Fund-raising
• Story-telling, etc.
