Computers for Schools (CFS) is an initiative that attempts to provide a holistic computer based education to school children. Given below are the steps involved.
- We collect donated surplus/obsolete/unused computers from private sector sources and redistribute them to public schools free of cost.
- We create computer labs in public schools. Our labs are centralized and consist of networked thin-clients. This helps lower our installation and maintenance costs.
- We install a Free Operating System called Edubuntu primarily written for school children. We also provide the educational packages relevant to the profile of the school students.
- We provide training to School Teachers and lab staff.
- Our volunteers take computer classes in the weekends
