“Sewa dina” was celebrated on 22nd December, 2007 which happens to be the death anniversary of Sri.Ajith Kumar, the  founder of Hindu Seva Prathisthana. YFS volunteers had a great time doing Rangoli, packing fruit baskets and helping with other arrangements. We had opened counters for selling books & cassettes as well.

Adamya Chetana is a Bangalore based NGO working in the field of social development. A particular project of this voluntary organization by name Aata-Paatha was quite intriguing. Recently, they had organized several competitions and cultural shows in a ceremony called "Hattara Habba" and YFS volunteers provided a helping hand in all possible ways.

Aruna Chetana is a school for children with special needs. The school aims to provide comprehensive support to children with multiple disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation, Hearing Impairment, Partially Visually Impaired, Spina Bi Fida, Autism, Dyslexia, and Behaviour and Emotional Disorders. When Administrative Management College organized a management fest(Colossus 2007), they decided to provide a different exposure to the 400 MBA students by inviting Sri Venkatesh Murthy, coordinator of YFS, as the chief guest at the inauguration.

Updates from Sheshadripuram spoken English class

December was a month of energetic activity in Sheshadripuram English speaking class. The current batch is nearing its end and it was time for fervent revising in the classes.  Small scale English tests were conducted in the class, which proved that the students were indeed getting better.

Two students from California, USA volunteer their vacation with YFS Abhiram and Tara, undergrad students from University of California, Berkely, spent 3 weeks of their winter break volunteering with NGOs in Bangalore. This article is about a specific project undertaken at Gowdanpalya. The classes commenced on 22 September, 2007 and were completed on 22 December, 2007.
